Assistant Teacher

My name is Carter. I grew up in the mute woodlands of Kitsap County, so I enjoy my fix of outdoor recreation and impromptu entertainment. I’m currently studying environmental science at the University of Washington, but I’m more of a jack-of-all-trades than an academic. I was a competitive dancer through elementary school, then I focused mainly on cardistry (the art of card shuffling) for the next 10 years. Other notable skills I picked up along the way include video production, string figures, paper crafts, and playing guitar. Working with children gives me the chance to mend the areas where I feel the education system failed me during that major developmental period. Finding what a child is passionate about and integrating it into their learning is what I value most as an educator. I appreciate LASER acting as a vessel for that to be possible.
