Hi! My name is Kaya. I have been in Seattle all my life and this will be my first year at LASER. I am so thrilled to be joining the team!

Outside of the classroom I love freestyle and vert skateboarding, writing grunge songs, and playing lots of video games. I am currently naming every spider I find in my house an epic human name.

I am deeply passionate about making sure every kid gets to feel welcomed, understood, and capable in and out of LASER. One of my favorite things about kids is their incredible story telling and boundless creativity. It is such an honor to be able to witness their growth into confident, empathetic, and radiating individuals.

A fun fact about me is that I love big scary looking creatures because I feel like if I get to understand them they will protect me and it will look really cool.
